The Kimberley Club reflects the elegance, charm and distinctive style of a bygone era. Throughout the building you will notice exceptional craftsmanship, magnificent architecture and remarkable attention to detail that has stood the test of time.
Before entering, you will notice a clearly marked north-facing arrow on the walkway. This marker was placed there to settle any disputes regarding direction.
The Kimberley Club is a full-service 4-star guest house offering luxury accommodation and delicious cuisine at affordable rates. Centrally located in Kimberley’s CBD, the Club has become a popular venue for weddings, conferences, business meetings and special functions, while offering easy access to attractions such as the Big Hole, McGregor Museum, the Africana Library and many others.

Built for Kimberley’s diamond elite, no expense was spared. Every detail was completed to the highest possible standard.
The carved staircase and balustrades were manufactured in London, shipped to Kimberley in sections and assembled on site.

The Kimberley Club officially opened its doors on 14 August 1882 with 74 founding members.
The original clubhouse featured a billiard room, two ante-rooms, a reading room upstairs, together with a dining room and bar lounge on the ground floor.
The original building was later destroyed by fire.
The present building, designed by renowned architect D.W. Greatbatch, was completed in 1896 and faithfully restored to its former glory.
On 4 April 1984, the Kimberley Club was declared a National Monument, with the official proclamation being gazetted on 24 May 1984.
Today, the Kimberley Club remains one of Kimberley’s oldest and most treasured landmarks, preserving a remarkable legacy of history, architecture and hospitality for future generations.
